COVID Relief Fund (SSRF)

Have you and your family been financially impacted by COVID-19?

The COVID Relief Fund (SSRF) is intended to assist households within Leeds and Grenville whose financial situation is precarious due to COVID-19. The fund is meant to support people at risk of homelessness, low-income household and people who are unemployed or have reduced employment due to COVID-19.

Funding is only accessible once per household unless there are exceptional circumstances.

Client Eligibility:

  1. Must reside in Leeds and Grenville
  2. Applicant must explore other options such as EI Benefits, CERB, Federal assistance and other available programs
  3. Must be impacted directly by COVID-19
  4. Expenses must be incurred after March 1st 2020

SSRF can assist with:

  • Rental assistance  (Schedule A)
  • Utility costs  (Schedule B)
  • Personal protective equipment  (Schedule C)
  • Cleaning supplies  (Schedule C)
  • Delivery/travel costs  (Schedule C)
  • Food for those self-isolating  (Schedule C)

Need assistance with utilities?

Is your heat or power at risk of being turned off?

The Employment + Education Centre might be able to help you access one of their programs designed to help people in need of assistance with utilities.

The LEAP Program is designed for customers of Enbridge Gas, Hydro One, Rideau-St. Lawrence Distribution, Union Gas, and Eastern Ontario Power. In order to qualify for one grant per calendar year, a household must have a Enbridge Gas, Hydro One, Rideau-St. Lawrence Distribution, Union Gas, and Eastern Ontario Power bill currently in arrears or have recently received a disconnection notice. A household must also be experience personal circumstances which make it difficult or impossible to pay the current bill.

(For Hydro One, Enbridge Gas, and Union Gas customers to initiate your application you must first call 1-855-487-5327. For all others contact us at 613-498-2111).

The Energy and Utilities Fund – contract by United Counties of Leeds and Grenville to assist low-income households and people at risk of homelessness within Leeds and Grenville due to energy/utility arrears maintain their housing. Please note that extenuating circumstances may be considered for people who do not meet the income/eligibility criteria.  This fund can be accessed once within a 24 month period.
