Code of Conduct
The Employment & Education Centre is a charitable, non-profit organization, which offers employment counseling and support to job seekers regardless of their age or circumstance. EEC’s Employment Resource Centre is an important resource for everyone in the community. Each of us has a role to play in making the Centre a safe, friendly and supportive environment for all by being considerate to others. EEC clients, staff and volunteers all pledge to treat one another with respect and dignity. EEC has the right to refuse service to any individual.
Resource Centre Hours: Operating hours for the Resource Centre are Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with extended hours till 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Clients must log off the computers 15 minutes before closing time. The Resource Centre Attendant reserves the right to close the facilities with little or no notice for repair purposes.
Internet Access: The Employment & Education Centre will make every effort to provide Internet access to clients for employment searching purposes. Recreational use of the facilities may be limited during peak usage times.
Additional terminals are provided at the Brockville Public Library on Buell Street or the Thousand Islands Community Development Corporation at City Hall for those who wish to access Internet services during regular business hours.
PC Games: PC games are not allowed in the Resource Centre.
Personal Equipment and Software: Users are not allowed to connect personal laptops into the network without special permission from the Resource Centre Attendant.
Reserving Equipment: All equipment in the Resource Centre is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. No reservations will be taken. If all equipment is in use, a waiting list will be started and users performing non-employment related functions will be asked to vacate the equipment for users waiting to do employment related tasks.
Saving Work: No one is allowed to store personal work on the hard drives in the Resource Centre. All users should have a personal data disk for saving their work. If you do not have a disk, the Resource Centre Attendant will provide you with one. Any files found on the hard drives will be deleted. The Employment & Education Centre is not responsible in any way for unsaved data lost due to power failure, computer failure, or any other unplanned or unavoidable event or emergency.
Printing/Faxing/Photocopying: There is a printer/fax/photocopier available for employment related purposes in the Resource Centre. To avoid printing delays and backups, please print only necessary files. Clients are restricted to 20 printouts per visit.
Personal: Please be respectful to staff and others using the Resource Centre at all times. This includes following the above rules, no loud music, speaking in a quiet voice and not using any inappropriate language.
These Rules & Regulations must be followed at all times. If you do not respect and follow the rules, you will be asked to leave.
